To encourage residents to become entrepreneur, the Council of Indigenous Peoples revitalizes the tradition and promotes industrial development. At the year of 2015, the council conducted Taiwan Indigenous Peoples Entrepreneurial Guidance Program not only provides 1,000,000 NTD for entrepreneurship, but also coaches the entrepreneurs in establishing new business model, improve the knowledge about operation and financial management, as well as their industrial competitiveness, so as to achieve the goal of sustainable development.
Today, the second term of entrepreneurial team Na Shan Mu Indigenous People Seafood Restaurant opens, in which Na Shan Murefers to My Home in Atayal language. The founder Mr. Hsu Chi-Wen hopes to retain the feeling of home town even though he set up his business in metropolitan religion to remind himself of adhering to the original intention of being honest and diligent in this road to meet every one of those who come to visit, taste and chat. As entering the restaurant, a landscape mosaics and many decorations with Indigenous People elements on the wall jump into the sight. Mosaics images are derived from the mountains overlooked from San Min Village of Fu Hsin County where the founder of the restaurant grew up and the lake amber represents Shihmen Reservoir, which is as deep as the sea. Although working in catering industry, he hopes to convey the beauty of Indigenous Peoples tribes to more people through the decorations inside the restaurant.
The operation mode of the restaurant is to combine source place with dining table. Its ingredients come from Hsiayun Tribes of Taoyuan Fuhsin County, bringing the tribes vegetable garden on the dining table, shorten the distance between the producing area and the consumer, and purchasing fresh food to contribute parts of the profit to the tribes; the restaurant integrates traditional indigenous dishes with modern cooking skills, including pigeon pea salad, salt-flavored pork with cinnamon, Makao pepper shrimp and other special dishes, range from 200 to 300 NT dollars. The dishes also vary within seasons. The opening ceremony will start with playing Indigenous-style musical instrument accompanied with ancient tone singing and traditional cuisine through contemporary cooking skills and exquisite technique, so as to invite media and public people to participate in this great project.
The previous first term of entrepreneurial team has registered 20 companies through the effort with the Council of Indigenous Peoples for more than a year. In addition to the increasing of company scale and revenue, it also creates jobs for local residents. The 20 entrepreneurial teams of the second term also complete the establishment of companies, which are growing vigorously. It hopes that there will be more residents joining the process of entrepreneurship in the future, converting into employment power by carrying out the Council of Indigenous Peoples industrial demonstration zone, so as to build up Taiwan tribes ecological groups and eventually achieve the sustainable development of environment and industries to satisfy the idea of entrepreneurship, employment and industry.
