Results of Tribal Children Remote Accompanied Study Program are proved to be valueable

The Council of Indigenous Peoples (CIP) held the Results Presentation and Award Ceremony of the 2016 Tribal Children Remote Accompanied Study Program in the activity center of Hualien Chuang-Hua Primary School on 11 o’clock of Jan. 7th.There were about 200 students from various universities and tribal primary students around the country. Meanwhile, the university and tribal primary students created interesting and active atmosphere with an opening show in which they marched in with pairs. And they also shared the teaching and learning experience, providing the indigenous children with company.

CIP expressed, this program conducts one-to-one learning assistance through the real-time video streaming mode of teaching platform combined by message software and network media to accompany and instruct the indigenous children to study. Attributed to its profound educational meaning, the program received active participation and recognition of the tribal parents, children and students from various schools. 

Through the facilitating of accompanied study mode, teaching design mechanism, course education counseling as well as faculty training and practice, more learning resource was brought to the tribal children. The service scope of the first phase of 2016 Tribal Children Remote Accompanied Study Program covered Miaoli County, Chiayi County, Pingtung County, Hualien County and Taitung County. There were totally 10 assisting tribal book information station and 102 accompanied tribal primary students, as well as 3 associate universities including Donghua University, Taitung University and I-Shou University. The number of training university students is 114.  

CIP values highly on this program and will continue to conduct the program in 2017.The indigenous students of grade 3 to 5 of primary school in tribal areas or at least 6 children from other service spots who are recommended by the spot counselors will have chance to become the service objects of this program. We hope more indigenous children can be cultivated to become excellent talents of the tribes through the learning resources we provide.
