In order to promote the indigenous peoples language learning, and response to trend and change of the online learning, the Council of Indigenous Peoples (CIP) officially launched the indigenous peoples language dictionary in Aug. 2013 (http://e-dictionary.apc.gov.tw). By years of extension and improvement of the content of online dictionary along with constant promotion activities, the website’s functions have gradually gained recognition by users and visitors had reached to 10 million for long. It is obviously that for the indigenous peoples languages learners, this website has become one of the most widely used websites for indigenous peoples language learning.
CIP expressed that the set indigenous peoples language dictionary possesses functions including online search, download resource, discussion, online test and extended learning, etc. It provides quick search channel for users. And furthermore, in order to offer more convenient method to learn indigenous peoples language, it launches 16 indigenous peoples language mobile online dictionary (http://m-dictionary.apc.gov.tw). Through the internet by phone, tablet and other mobile devices, the platform to learn indigenous peoples language can be accessed at any time.
Besides the vocabulary and example sentences, the online dictionary also provides pronunciation, allowing the indigenous people conduct learning, searching, listening, reading and sharing of indigenous peoples language anywhere anytime. Various mobile tools in the mobile dictionary are available for adjusting the size of view for the convenience of reading as well as optimizing the search function, thus making the operation in mobile phone and tablet simpler and easier. Even better, the popular online test function is reserved in the mobile dictionary which let indigenous people enhance the recognition of symbols of indigenous peoples language through the interesting test.
