The Council of Indigenous Peoples provided the indigenous peoples with fund for conducting business by establishing the Indigenous Peoples’ Comprehensive Development Fund for financing. The items covered by this fund include economic undertaking loan for indigenous people, start-up loan for indigenous people and micro economic activity loan for indigenous people. For many years it has been providing financing service to the indigenous people who have fund demand for starting business, developing micro economic undertaking or improving life or family livelihood. The Plan has accepted over 25,000 cases equaling to NTD 7.2 billion in total. We welcome any indigenous people who have demands to apply for funds.

CIP stated that in order to fully use the loans and guide the indigenous people to steadily operate their business and to extend the service scope of financial counseling, it increased the number of financial counseling personnel to 35. With the financial counseling mode based on resource integration, it creates professional counseling team service to provide loan counseling, start-up plan making, loan process assistance, loan application extension measures assistance and coordination with administrative institution for the indigenous people. Through these, the Plan can perform the financial accompanied counseling mechanism so as to efficiently help the indigenous people to obtain funds. Any indigenous people who need assistance can call 0800-508-188 for free financial service, or visit the management website of the Indigenous Peoples’ Comprehensive Development Fund of CIP (http://ipl.efarm.org.tw) for more information.

CIP particularly reminded the indigenous people that anyone who has fund demand should avoid applying for usury through the underground financial activity in case of getting stuck in the trap of high-burden debt, and should not entrust others to prevent from being cheated. Additionally, it also noted that the indigenous people should pay attention to personal credit. Loan is not equal to subsidy which should be paid back by month according to the contract. And if the repayment is not completed in time, there will be bad records in the credit, affecting the approved conditions for the application of loan, check, credit card, etc.
