The event demonstrated the experimental education results of 16 Indigenous Peoples experimental schools as well as 67 Indigenous Peoples’ key schools to promote the transformation of school environments. In order to encourage indigenous key schools to conduct experimental education for indigenous peoples, establish new education model and cultivate new generations of indigenous people with both traditional and modern knowledge, the Council of Indigenous Peoples stipulated “Key Points for Subsidizing School-type Indigenous Peoples Experimental Education” to encourage the indigenous key schools to apply for Indigenous Peoples experimental education. During the preparation period, one school would be subsidized maximum NTD 2 million and maximum NTD 1.5 million during the experimental period to assist the development of courses, teaching of tribal superiors’ cultures, culture learning materials as well as creating cultural environment for Indigenous Peoples.

The Council stated that educational surveys and studies found that, through indigenous education, the national self-confidence could be enhanced, the course cultures could be echoed and indigenous students would have better learning performance. The Council also hoped to use the Indigenous Peoples’ Experimental Education Program to find the most suitable education model for the indigenous students to learn, on the one hand to cultivate the talents that the tribe needed in the future, on the other hand to systematically pass down tribal traditional cultures and wisdom at the normal school educational fields.
