The selected indigenous dealers this year used precious ingredients from nature to reproduce the rich food culture and wisdom of the Indigenous Peoples and promote the industries and cultures with indigenous ethnic characteristics. Calivat‧Gadu, Deputy Director of the Council, stated that eight manufacturers had participated in the exhibition, including the ones which possess the use of the traditional cuisine of the mountain-Indigenous Peoples as well as the use of more than 20 traditional tribal traditional seasonings, which were hand-made into “Maqaw” pineapple cake and other series of products; the others, such as Alishan’s tea blending with Tsou culture comes from an altitude of 1000-1500 meters, A’bai, the traditional Ami cuisine far from Taitung that was filled with fake physalis leaves and wrapped in millet, etc., unique original Taiwanese (red quinoa) winemaking culture which create original authentic indigenous beer, as well as the Taiyuan Valley rice and golden brown rice planted by the Ami traditional farming methods. There were other indigenous food products, and consumers were expected to come and taste.
Calivat‧Gadu, Deputy Director of the Council, further said that, in order to strengthen the agricultural brand image with indigenous ethnic characteristics and share the healthy ingredients of the Indigenous Peoples’ natural habitat to present the rich cultural heritage and enthusiasm of the Indigenous Peoples, the Council had worked with 8 indigenous manufacturers to exhibit and took “Ka^so'ay”, referring to yummy and delicious in Ami, as the food brand of the Council. At the “2018 Taiwan Food Exhibition”, the most natural and healthy local ingredients of the Indigenous Peoples would be presented, so that you could taste the unique flavor of the Indigenous Peoples, thereby promoting every effort for cultivation, so as to move and pass the outlook of the indigenous villages with the most amiable tastes.
During the exhibition, Mr. Lu, Kuang-Chung, the spokesperson of the 2018 Taiwan Food Exhibition, was scheduled to visit the exhibition booth at 11-11:20 on August 11, Saturday; Mr. Chen, Yao-Hsun, winner of the 2017 French World Bread Competition, would also visit the exhibition booth at 8:11 pm (Saturday) to promote the use of food and tasting activities of indigenous ingredients.
